Job Description

The Hardware R&D Controls Engineer is responsible for electrical design of our system modules. This includes conceptualization, design, engineering and testing of new prototype components and full systems.

Tasks and responsibilities :

  • You take the lead on R&D activities concerning controls components and the full functioning product.
  • You develop schematic design in Eplan.
  • Creating of safety PLC blocks for Beckhoff and or Siemens.
  • You are responsible for the selection and nomination of controls components (sensors, drives, HMI, …).
  • Making calculations, if needed.
  • You interface with mechanical specialists to design a complete, mechatronic, solution.
  • You make full production files (BOM’s, schematics, datasheets).
  • You discuss test specifications and set-up with the Test & Validation team.
  • You work together with production engineering to bring our products to the market.
  • You keep up to date with new market trends in your field.

Qualifications

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics,  Automation or a related field.
  • You have at least 3 years of engineering experience, preferably in the material handling, manufacturing, automation, machine, or aerospace industries.
  • Notions of functional safety, performance levels, risk analysis and sistema.
  • Your expertise is mainly in controls, but you have a keen interest in the full product picture, including mechanical design and software.
  • You are an autonomous team player.
  • English is a must (C1 or higher).
  • You have experience with Eplan or something similar.
  • You have experience with Twincat and/or TIA portal.
  • Knowledge of Dutch is highly recommended.
  • Able and eager to learn and evolve your skills.
  • Driven and enthusiastic team player, who loves to take the initiative.
