Job Description
As Project Controller you perform business and financial analyses on a project level, to identify and understand deviations, risks, variances, and forecasting. Introducing and implementing improvements in all areas of the project. He/she ensures that projects are properly supported by financial information, analysis, control, and communication, to ensure that interventions and corrections can be made in a punctual manner, enabling business partners to improve business results. The Project Controller is supporting for all projects of Movu Robotics.
Analysis & Project Controlling
- Prepares, evaluates, updates, and ensures the accuracy of project forecasts, including cash flow forecast, by assessing actual costs incurred, accruals, calculating work in progress and monitoring projects progress and performance continuously during all phases.
- Provides financial and business analyses as required and points out any foreseen or unforeseen variances.
- Prepares and monitors the budget in conjunction with the Project manager for the projects assigned, and ensures its accuracy, following up on inconsistencies between actual expenses and budgeted figures.
- Controls the set of financial KPI’s for the projects assigned and takes appropriate action where and when required in a proactive manner.
- Controls month-end closing and verifies inconsistencies.
- Follows up on monthly provisions (cost & revenue), ensuring completeness and accuracy and adjusting where needed.
- He/she supports Project managers in ensuring adequate project cost control and project profitability in-line with the set financial objectives. And collaborates with Project managers and Reporting & Compliance to ensure project invoices are accurately prepared, punctually submitted and collected.
- Ensures that all relevant financial project master data is updated and maintained correctly.
- Proper filing of all financial project-related information.
Risk Management
- Reviews project activities for compliance with the company’s standards, financial policies, and procedures (including but not limited to Revenue Recognition and Financial Set Up Rules for projects) and intervenes where and when necessary.
- Proactively intervenes, advises, and takes actions when necessary, both invited and unsolicited, e.g., when deviations occur and in response to relevant trends and developments.
- Creates and establishes KPI’s, standards, tools, and procedures with regards to the financials on the projects in accordance with company’s standards and procedures.
- Closely observes possible tax issues related to the assigned projects.
- He/she supports Project managers with regards to invoicing, financial terms & conditions, credit management, etc.
Improvement & Change Management
- Serves as a close liaison between Finance and Projects, translating financial data into comprehensive operational business data.
- Proposes improvement actions to Business operations and follows up on these.
- Key user in implementing the new IT landscape
Contacts
- Closely liaises with Project managers for all project-related information, accruals, and bookings.
- Ensures adequate responses are given to queries from the company regarding financial performance and liaise, if necessary, with the business controller..
- Provides all information and back-up information to internal and external auditors.
Reporting & Communication
- Provides regular and accurate project reports (including budget, WIP, cash flow, detailed cost, and revenue reports) in accordance with the company’s standards and applicable legislation. To support the Project managers and Business operations in general.
- Reports significant issues promptly to Project management and Finance Director.
Qualifications
A Project Controller:
- Holds a Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field as finance, business, analytics, etc.
- Has experience in the tasks represented above.
- Has fluent control of the Dutch and English languages. Fluency in French is a plus.
- Is able to use MS Office and analytic tools easily and on a daily basis.
- Is capable in preparing thorough and clear reports for higher management.
- Is a team player who can work autonomously.
- Prepares the analytics and documentation in a timely manner.
- Has experience as a project controller for at least 5 years.
- Previous experience with SAP4H project module.
