Job Description
The ELECTRICAL DRAFTER plays a critical role in bringing our customers' vision for an automated storage solutions from concept to reality. The primary objective is to provide accurate electrical schematics and control panel designs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Solutions: Fully automated storage solutions including pallet shuttles (atlas), tote shuttles (eScala), as well as automated mobile robots (iFollow) and ancillary systems such as conveyors and lifts.
Customers: End users are located throughout the United States and Canada. We work with many of the leading integrators as our Sales partners.
As our ELECTRICAL DRAFTER, you…
- convert project requirements into project drawings using EPLAN software
- lead the design and planning of electrical schematics and panel layouts, coordinating with engineering and project teams to ensure designs meet project and industry standards
- study and analyze drawings to proactively identify missing information or design issues, and collaborate with the team to propose effective solutions that improve overall design quality
- lead the verification of equipment documentation and measurements, ensuring all components are used correctly and optimized for project requirements
- ensure compliance with and helping refine company drawing standards for consistency and efficiency across all projects
- maintain and optimize the EPLAN library, ensuring it supports efficient and accurate project generation for future designs
- develop and implement automated processes to streamline repetitive aspects of project drawings to reduce manual errors and save time
- ensure the optimization of drawing content by incorporating comprehensive information on electrical components, including dip-switch settings, configuration screenshots, and other necessary details
- foster a culture of continuous improvement in collaboration with engineering team members
- oversee the production of customer electrical cabinets, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and are delivered on time, while providing guidance to the production team
- communicate and coordinate with Electrical Controls Engineers, sharing relevant updates on new components or design changes to ensure alignment and project success
- lead the design and development of digital twins for electrical cabinets in EPLAN Pro Panel, ensuring accuracy and functionality for virtual testing and validation
- ensure the timely and accurate production of as-built EPLAN drawings, reflecting final project execution and modifications
- oversee the creation and accuracy of field cable drawings, ensuring they meet project specifications and installation requirements
Qualifications

Technical
- At least 3-4 years of experience as an Electrical Drafter working with EPLAN software is a requirement
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in the material handling industry is a plus but not required

Practical
- You live in a commutable distance to our Romeoville, IL office (hybrid schedule)
- Occasional travel across North America to customer sites
- For training, you may be asked to travel to our headquarters in Belgium (usually no more than 2 weeks at a time)
- We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. Our business hours are 8 am – 5 pm CST. Early birds are welcome to get the worm and wrap up earlier at the end of the day.
