Job Description

Having an excellent End User experience as goal, the Group Workplace and Identity Expert’s responsibility is to maximize the end user productivity and efficiency through the effective usage of the security, collaboration, and communication tools of the Microsoft 365 and EntraID product portfolio. Based on knowledge and insights into the technological evolutions within this area, the Group Workplace and Identity Expert will define stow Group’s Workplace and Identity management strategy and drive its successful delivery. You will function as a trusted advisor to the stow Group employees when it comes to processing improvements and innovation in endpoint, collaboration, document, and identity management. Based on a good sense of creativity and a good understanding of the Microsoft solutions portfolio, the expert can perfectly empathize with the internal process challenges and define and implement solutions for it that boost our security posture, productivity, and efficiency.

Main responsibilities and key tasks

  • Define the strategy and governance around endpoint management, communication, and collaboration tools & services.
  • Define the strategy and governance around identity management based on the Microsoft EntraID suite.
  • Anticipate the technological evolutions and roadmaps of our main vendors and analyze market developments suitability for the stow Group environment and match them to our (IT) strategy (videoconference solutions, endpoint management solutions, collaboration solutions, …)
  • Define, prioritize, and deliver projects and initiatives in the modern workplace area.
  • Build strong partnerships with key business stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver the right solutions. Combine Microsoft 365 tools and Microsoft Windows 11 features to create the best experience for the stow Group employees, both for Office Workers and First Line Workers, hence with a secure by design approach.
  • Manage the roll out of Autopilot and Intune managed devices and refine the process and procedures as we move forward.
  • Maximize the user adoption and value generation of the end user productivity, communication and collaboration tools and services, by launching user adoption initiatives based on insights gained from the defined key metrics and KPIs that track the efficient and effective use of these tools.
  • Establish and support a virtual center of excellence with power users from the different international business communities, targeting to share best practices, explain new Microsoft 365 features, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the security team to ensure standards are well understood and proper controls are implemented, tracked and any deviation is quickly remediated.
  • Collaborate with the Connectivity and Core Systems Experts and other IT colleagues to ensure our global collaboration infrastructure matches the expectations of the business.
  • Communicate on a frequent basis to the IT community to update them on roll out progress and/or new capabilities which could be interesting for stow Group.
  • License management, in collaboration with procurement and specialists who advise on the required toolset.
  • Define the strategy around hardware lifecycle management for all endpoints and new large or intermediate software release.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent through experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment or a large organization.
  • Microsoft 365, the Entra Suite and Windows 11 have no secrets for you.
  • Experience with PowerShell and Graph API is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Video Rooms and telephony is considered a plus.
  • Firsthand and pragmatic experience with project management.
  • A great blend of creative and technical ability is necessary.
  • Initiative-taking mindset and excellent capabilities to spot opportunities to help the business.
  • Strong customer service orientation (“Customer first” mindset).
  • Flexible, positive, and open minded.
  • Excellent communication skills. Comfortable presenting for a large audience and for diverse levels of seniority.
  • Enthusiastic about working in an international environment, embracing diverse cultures and countries.

Job complexity and challenges

Working in the Group IT team, the IT Expert:

  • Works in a relatively complex organization, where all stakeholders, using the technology in place will need to be aligned, putting the best interest of the company as your primary goal. Understanding cultural differences, as well as respecting local regulations is a key complexity to consider.
  • Can work on multiple parallel assignments, projects, or initiatives in combination with the day-to-day support on a level 3 towards users or peers.
  • Works under supervision of an IT manager, though requires a self-employed, pragmatic and “can do” work behavior.
  • Works in a multi-cultural environment with diverse business maturity levels
  • Works in a lean and optimized IT environment in constant evolution to face the change required by the new acquisitions and the business growth environment.
  • Has the ability to work in large environments (+350 servers, two global datacenters, thirty-five remote locations, …)
  • Travel might be needed (Estimated rate: 10%) to provide installations, guidance, and support.

Accountability and scope factors

Working in the Global IT team, the IT Expert:

  • Has a key role in improving the overall IT landscape by selecting, providing the right technology choices and solutions that ensure the overall security, stability, and progress of the company.
  • Has a key role in the successful integration of new acquisitions and thus in the realization of stow’s rapid growth ambitions.
  • Accountable on the continuous availability of the systems, solutions, and applications within the responsibilities of the designated IT stack.
  • Provide expert support (third line level) in line with the support SLA’s (both internal & external).
  • Assists the IT Management Team and business stakeholders in further defining the IT roadmap and drives the proper execution of it in line with the priorities and budget defined.
