Job Description

The ELECTRICAL SITE MANAGER is an integral person in helping our customer’s vision for an automated storage solution from Movu US come to life. The core objective is to guide, control, and oversee the project during electrical installation and initial commissioning phases.

Solutions: Fully automated storage solutions including pallet shuttles (atlas), tote shuttles (escala), automated mobile robots (ifollow), as well as ancillary equipment such as conveyors and lifts.

Customers: End users are located throughout the United States and Canada. We work with many of the leading integrators as our Sales partners.

Typical project size: 1-30M

As our ELECTRICAL SITE MANAGER, you…

  • work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Electrical Controls Engineers and Mechanical Site Managers to assist with the overall project execution
  • follow up with the Engineering team members appointed to the current project to produce/adjust the technical documents and/or drawings
  • supervise the execution of assigned projects
  • manage subcontractor personnel on-site
  • support subcontractors with problem-solving and troubleshooting activities
  • conduct site safety training and regulatory checks
  • maintain a safe work environment on-site at all times
  • foresee project risks and escalate any issues discovered with the relevant project stakeholders in a timely manner
  • discuss drawings and blueprints with the subcontractor/foreman
  • lead site coordination of weekly/monthly activity planning and provide reports to Project Management
  • monitor the progress and quality of the project, identifying deviations and initiating corrections where necessary
  • maintain and adhere to the project budget
  • manage on-site receiving of materials
  • control equipment certificates and ensure the equipment remains certified during the project
  • analyze bill of materials and manage on-site receiving of materials

  • monitor and report potential delays that could impact the project timeline
  • take ownership of the results and act proactively with the given authority
  • provide reports and information punctually
  • ensure that all project-related documentation is up to date and properly stored/archived
  • keep track of claims – identifying variations and/or draft delay notifications with substantiation of costs based on the existing contract agreements
  • ensure project variations by the client or the subcontractors are communicated to the Project Manager

Technical

  • Several years of experience with the electrical installation is required; ideally in the material handling/automation/robotics field
  • Basic knowledge of automation controls; affinity with software is preferred
  • Ability to interpret drawings is required (mechanical and electrical)
  • Professional communication skills to interact with clients at various levels of an organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering, ideally Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial, Robotics, or Controls Engineering is a plus but not required if you bring relevant work experience as described above

Practical

  • You live in vicinity of a major airport
  • You’re willing and able to travel to project sites across the United States and Canada consistently; occasional weekend or evening work may be required based on project schedules, especially during the go-live phase.
  • The travel percentage will vary depending on project lifecycle, it should average at 80% across the year. During critical project phases, it will be a 2-3 week on-site rotation.
  • Travel for onboarding and training to our Romeoville, IL office; and possibly also to our headquarters in Belgium (usually no more than 2 weeks for international visits)
  • We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. Most people start their workday no later than 8 am CST. Start time will vary depending on the project site (e.g., West Coast projects).
